  1. It’s so great that South Korea has required everyone to recycle. It only makes sense! I wish the U.S. government would implement some kind of program like this one. It seems very successful and may even create new jobs!

  4. After viewing this piece, I must say that recycling initiatives displayed in this part of Korea are not that much different than those practiced in many parts of the Greater Toronto Area in Canada.

    Although the city streets are not communal sorting depots like those seen in the video, each house is equipped with a blue recycling bin (now available in various sizes) and a green compost bin. Recently, city officials put a fee on anything more than one garbage bag per household during pickups in an effort to curb waste. We will see how this pans out, but all points are there for effort. Sadly, from what I see here and from what I have heard from US-bound travellers, the all-in-one waste system is still alive and well down there.
