Food Tourism In California

Food tourism has arrived in California. When it comes to choosing a destination, more and more travelers are letting their taste buds decide. The growth of the farm to fork movement is an important component for travelers to the state. Increased interest in urban gardening is also a powerful lure for many visitors.

Visit California has designated January as Restaurant Month, featuring  celebrity chef events, wine tasting specials, gourmet prix-fixe dinners and exclusive seasonal offerings. You can use their interactive events map to find culinary happenings across the state all year long. It also has a list of 6 pre-planned restaurant tours to help you decide what part of the state your palette wants to visit.

California, with its many cultures, world class wineries and varied culinary traditions is a foodies delight. Everything from picnics aboard a hot air balloon wafting across wine country, food festivals, ethnic dining, guided restaurant tours and farm-to-table restaurant experiences are available.

Make sure you pack your bib when you make plans to visit California this year.
