Route’s Rentals in Albuquerque, New Mexico is offering special Valentine’s Day themed “Velo-tines” bike tours every Saturday in February. The itinerary is perfect for beginners or moderately experienced bikers and features beautiful scenery mixed in with stops at four of Albuquerque’s favorite attractions: Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm, Casa Rondeña Winery, The New Mexico Tea Company, and Rude Boy Cookies.

Your ride will take you through historic Old Town Albuquerque and the beautiful cottonwood forests along the Rio Grande River to the charming Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, where large numbers of migratory birds can be observed wintering in pastures and fields.

This Santa Fe style Albuquerque landmark is set among 25 acres of lavender fields and is featured on the National  Registry of Historic Places. Guest can learn more about the art of making lavender oil, purchase lavender themed items at the gift shop or enjoy experience fine dining in the on-site restaurant. It is owned by the Rembe Family, whose mission is, “…to preserve the historic Los Poblanos Ranch by cultivating a dynamic business dedicated to sustainable agriculture, hospitality, historic preservation, and community.”

Casa Rondeña Winery

This well known winery hosts wine tasting every day from noon until 7 pm. Set in a beautiful natural environment, it celebrates not only good wine but also local art, music and culture. It has been chosen the best local winery for three years running by the citizens of Albuquerque.

New Mexico Tea Company

Nothing beats the aroma of a real, old fashioned tea shop. At the New Mexico Tea Shop, they blend a wide assortment of loose teas imported from around the world. Browse through the hundreds of teas available and maybe create your very own blend. They will be happy to ship you more when you get home.

velotour 3Rude Boy Cookies

This Albuquerque institution serves up fresh baked cookies day and night. Sample traditional favorites like chocolate chip or try their very own Oatmeal Cream Pie. They even have vegan and gluten free varieties available. And what goes better with cookies than ice cream or a cold glass of milk served pub style from its very own tap?

Cruiser Or Tandem?

Choose one of Route’s Rental’s cruiser bikes for your journey or select a tandem bicycle for a truly romantic Valentine’s Day experience. The price is $80 per couple, including the bikes. Either way, you are sure to enjoy this very special Velo-tines ride through the American southwest.
