Should Brown Remain in Office?

Spacemen 3 released a song back in 1989. Revolution. It fairly rocked the underground. It didn’t do much damage elsewhere, though the lyrics:
And I’m tired
I’m so tired
Of a lot of people
In a lot of high places
suddenly seem to resonate within me again.
I welcomed the departure of Tony Blair with glee. Never has a man smiled so broadly whilst deceiving the public. The broader the grin, the more extreme the deceit. I viewed Gordon Brown, then the chancellor, as the more trustworthy one, the engine, the integrity of his political party.
But with Gordon Brown now our prime minister, doubt is again all too apparent. In his first speech on the environment, there was cautious optimism from the commentators.
But then came his wholehearted support of Heathrow’s expansion. The third runway has been roundly criticised. But not by him.
And of course his nuclear decision. No carbon emissions yet disgusting waste.
And then there were the broken promises.
Which gives rise to very important questions in my opinion. If a prime minister doesn’t take the environment seriously, is he morally fit for the job?
If a man talks green, but walks dirty, is this a crime worthy of office removal? And punishment?
It’s not just his political career I’m questioning here. I’m questioning moral fibre on every level. I’m being lied to.
